Local military bases

The March Air Reserve Base March Air Reserve Base (March ARB) is located in Riverside County, California. It hosts the Air Force Reserve Command's Fourth Air Force (4 AF) Headquarters and the 452d Air Mobility Wing. In addition to multiple units of the Air Force Reserve Command supporting Air Mobility Command, Air Combat Command, and Pacific Air Forces, March ARB is also home to units from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps Reserve units, as well as California Air and Army National Guard. The facility is also home to multiple medical, engineering, and support groups.

Los Angeles Air Force Base

The Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) is the only active-duty facility in Los Angeles county. It is located in El Segundo, California. Also situated here is the Los Angeles Air Force Base Headquarters of Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), part of the US Air Force Space Command. The base leads the research and development as well as the procurement and maintaining of space systems. The base is supported by the  61st Air Base Group, which takes care of the logistics, readiness, medical, and other services for SMC and other DoD units around the Los Angeles area. Other notable units include the Advanced Systems and Development Directorate, Global Positioning Systems Directorate, Space Superiority Systems Directorate, and more.

Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base

The Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB – Los Al or just JFTB) is a joint base in Los Alamitos, California. In the past, the base used to be a Naval Air Station, but it is now under the command of the US Army as the Los Alamitos Army Airfield. The primary purpose is to maintain high quality, safe airfields and repair facilities for all branches of the US Armed Forces. The base is serviced by 850 full-time employees and more than 6,000 National Guard and Reserve troops. JFTB has significant training capacity including an Aquatics Training Center with an Olympic-size swimming pool
