The Central Park Zoo lies at the southeast corner of New York’s iconic green space. It is one of four zoos managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society and it provides some stark contrasts to the surrounding urban environment. Why charter a bus for the Central Park Zoo

Visiting Central Park Zoo is a really popular choice during your time in New York. The only issue with visiting the zoo is the complete lack of parking. The zoo recommends using mass transit for your visit, but that can be a hassle for large groups. That’s why you should consider renting a bus. You can select a charter bus or minibus depending on your group size. A school bus is also an excellent choice for organizing a class field trip.

About the Surrounding Area

If you get an early start at the Central Park Zoo, you’ll have plenty of time after your visit to explore the surrounding area. You should take the opportunity to walk around Central Park and explore some of its unique attractions. One feature that’s easy to get to from the zoo is A Treehouse For Dreaming, a scenic attraction that’s occasionally used as a wedding venue. You can also take a quick walk over to Hallett Nature Sanctuary. There you’ll find several dirt walking trails to choose from, views of The Pond, and some of the best opportunities in the city to view local bird species. If you’re visiting Central Park Zoo in the winter, make sure to walk over to Wollman Rink to enjoy some ice skating in the park. Once your group starts to get hungry, however, you can walk across the park and try to get a table at the iconic Tavern on the Green. Other nearby restaurants include Ballfields Cafe, Sarabeth’s, and Pizza Rollio. And when your crew has food in your stomachs, you might be interested in sampling the nightlife at Jacques, Bar Seine, and Two E Bar.

About the Central Park Zoo

The entire zoo property encompasses a total of 6.5 acres located at the corner of 64th Street and 5th Avenue. It is open year-round and houses animals from tropical, temperate, and polar climates. Most visitors spend between one and two hours enjoying all the attractions that the zoo has to offer. Central Park Zoo’s was preceded by a menagerie that was founded back in 1864. That menagerie later became the city’s first public zoo.     From sea lions to penguins to red pandas, there is a diverse number of exhibits to see at the Central Park Zoo. There is also a 4-D Theater located just outside of the zoo grounds, but it is recommended to visit either before you head into the zoo or after you’re finished. That is because there is no re-entry allowed once you leave the zoo gates. The Children’s section of the zoo is home to sheep, goats, zebu, and more. Visitors can interact with many of the animals in this area for a truly hands-on experience.
